| To an oilman it certainly can. Because while drilling
rigs and their crews tend to get all the glory, it is the lowly pump jack (or pumper or cricket to some) that brings in the money. Standing alone, amid sand dunes, stubbled fields, or on rocky ground with cactus their only companions, it is these pumps that tirelessly lift the black gold to the surface. Everywhere we went we saw them, often punctuating already strikingly beautiful settings. We share a few of our best shots here. |
