“There is almost nothing that some man cannot make just a little worseand so, sell a little cheaper. Those who buy on the basis of price alone are that man’s lawful prey.”
                                —John Ruskin

indent.gif (821 bytes)Some people ignore Ruskin’s point completely. They are the ones about whom it is said, “They know the price of everythingand the value of nothing.” Then there are those who assume that if a thing is more expensive, it must, therefore, be better.
Of course, neither point of view is always correct.
What really matters is return on investment. And the only way to measure it is to track performance, comparing
it against price.
In this issue of Real Answers, Skip Skipper, Mike Thomas, Jim Hofstetter and Charles Henry show us how, by combining the high volume emphasis of Pines Trailer with the custom design of Great Dane, they have been able to create a single company that can produce trailers one at a time, or in the thousandswithout sacrificing either quality or value.
Then, we see how Bill Kennedy, Wade Lucas and Todd Uhl of Idealease combine outstanding customer service with “Best Practices” in spec’ing and maintenanceto maximize profitability for their customers.
And, because tires are just a tiny part of the value tire dealers provide, we’ll hear how Huber Tire helps Todd Uhl make his Idealease operation a success.
Then, we’ll look at the effects of antilock braking systems, speed and trailer tire selection. And, learn how that lowest-price commodity of allaircan have such a huge effect on tire performance.
We think you’ll find the time you spend reading this
Real Answers well worth your investment.
