NASHVILLE, Tenn. (April 14, 2004) - The new Bridgestone M726 EL drive radial offers an exceptionally deep 32/32" tread and is making it one of the deepest drives in the industry. With superior tread life that surpasses even the popular Bridgestone M726, the new M726 EL is built to deliver remarkably high removal miles, lower cost per mile, outstanding traction and legendary retreadability on tandem drive axle tractors.
The “EL” means “extra life,” a designation earned by its super long-wearing, deep-drive technology. Its next-generation tread compound is stronger for increased wear, stability and better heat resistance.
The tough compound also produces stiff blocks that resist heel-and-toe wear, while the buttressed block shape fights tearing for even more miles of smooth wear. A long-wearing solid shoulder design also fights irregular wear by distributing weight and torque.
The new M726 EL uses large, aggressive blocks with computer-designed shapes that are engineered and positioned to bite into soft surfaces for outstanding wet traction.
Block sipes cut through water and road films for solid wet handling, and the sipe ends are rounded to help prevent tearing.
The solid shoulder design incorporates high-grip shoulder notches to bite into soft surfaces for superb traction.
The deeper M726 EL is wider, too. The casing takes a full-size drive recap, preferred by most fleet operators for even more low-cost miles. And the casing incorporates four full steel belts with an all-steel casing ply, and is designed to minimize heat buildup for long life and retreadabilty.
The M726 EL also employs thousands of groove-bottom platforms to combat stone retention that can lead to casing damage and loss of retreadability.
